Hemimorphite

Hemimorphite – Zn4Si2O7(OH)2 ยท H2O

Interesting story…Once upon a time there was a zinc mineral named Calamine. It was a name used for multiple varieties of seemingly the same species. After some time, it was realized that there were two different zincs included in Calamine. Upon this newly discovered information, Calamine went ‘out of service’ in favor of the species name Hemimorphite (which is a hydrous zinc silicate) and Smithsonite (which is a zinc carbonate).

Hemimorphite is a zinc silicate of the Orthorhombic crystal system. It can be colorless, white, pale blue, pale green, gray, and brown. It’s luster can be a wide variety of sub-adamantine, vitreous, sub-vitreous, greasy, silky, or pearly and it’s hardness is 4.5-5.

Hemimorphite energizes fatigue, helps with hormonal headaches, ulcer pain, PMS, and promotes weight loss. It is also said to be helpful with heart health, cellular health, and blood health.

This is a great stone for empathy, compassion, and communication. It is beneficial for emotional healing, and will help you remove negative energies and heal the unhealthy ego.
