Hematite (ˈhē-mə-ˌtīt )-Fe₂O₃

Hematite is a member of the Hematite group. It is a heavy and relatively hard mineral (ferric oxide) and is named for it’s ‘blood like’ color. The color in which it can occur varies. Color can include reddish brown, dark silvery-grey, dark grey, depending on where it’s found. It is part of the Trigonal system and has a hardness of 5.5-6.5, with a metallic to splendent luster.

Physically Hematite is thought to support the circulatory system, help with iron absorption, increasing strength and vitality. It may also help regulate blood flow and assist with pain relief.

Emotional and Mentally it is said to help with focus, memory, and concentration. It may also help relieve stress and anxiety, boosting optimism and courage. It is said to be a healing stone, helping to inspire mindfulness and maintain a grounded connection.
