Fluorite is also known as Fluorspar and is a halide mineral, which means it naturally occurs as an inorganic compound that is the salt of the halogen acid (like hydrochloric acid). It is composed of calcium fluoride and crystallizes in Isometric (cubic) habit. It has a vitreous or dull luster and a hardness of 4. Fluorite colors can include purple, lilac, golden-yellow, green, blue, pink, champagne, brown, and of course, colorless.
