Celestite

Celestite (ˈse-lə-ˌstīt ) – SrSO₄

Celestite is named for its heavenly delicate blue color. It consists of strontium sulfate and it’s true (IMA-accepted) name is Celestine. By far the most common strontium material, it is an Orthorhombic crystal in the Baryte group. It has a Vitreous or Pearly luster and a hardness of 3-3.5. It’s color can range from colorless to shades of blue, white, reddish, greenish, brownish, greyish. It is found mostly in sedimentary rocks and is associated with the minerals gypsum, anhydrite, and halite.

Celestite is thought to help heal various physical ailments, including digestive issues, eye and ear issues, pain relief and detoxification.
